Old Mac’s Farm is open seven days a week from October to May
The gift shop, ice cream van, and animal nursery are open from 8.30am to 4.30 pm every day
Old Mac (aka Ian Mackie) bought the farm over 20 years ago, when it was little more than a valley full of weeds, willow and blackberry. Over the years, he created the wetlands, an animal nursery, built a restaurant, and of course the caravan park/farm stay, which began with just six sites and now has over 100!
This looks like a painting, but it’s an early photograph of a storm rolling in, on a hot summer day!
The farm is home to lots of birdlife
White Bellied Sea Eagles
The farm is also home to a pair of Australian White Bellied Sea Eagles. They have raised their young here for the past ten years and their huge and impressive nests are easily seen from our walking trails. They can even be seen catching eels from the lake!
A wide range of animals in the nursery!
Including donkeys, alpacas, goats, turkeys, ducks, guinea pigs, and our ever popular rabbits
And next summer Mac is bringing in some new alpacas, a new llama, and fingers crossed – we are hoping for some miniature oreo cows, aka Belted Galloways!
There's also a sandpit providing hours of entertainment!
Old Mac's Farm is the perfect place to spend the day!
